SHADOW GROVE

Dark, elemental and deliberately understated, Shadow Grove is inspired by the quieter places beneath the Forest of Dean canopy, where weathered stone, black earth and ancient woodland meet.

Textured volcanic Lava Stone is woven alongside polished black gemstone beads in a substantial double-row design, finished entirely in black for a piece that feels grounded, strong and unmistakably different from the lighter Dean & Root collection.

The contrast between rough, naturally porous stone and smooth polished beads gives Shadow Grove much of its character.

The Stones

Lava Stone

Formed from cooled volcanic rock, Lava Stone has an unmistakably raw and porous texture.

Traditionally, it is associated with grounding, strength, resilience and stability.

Its connection with the earth has also made it popular as a symbolic reminder to remain steady during periods of change.

Because Lava Stone is naturally porous, some people also choose to apply a tiny amount of essential oil to the stone and wear it as a subtle personal aroma bracelet.

Black Gemstone

The polished black stones bring contrast and depth to the piece.

Black stones such as Onyx and Obsidian have traditionally been associated with protection, focus, confidence and grounding.

Together with Lava Stone, they create a bracelet centred around strength, stability and quiet confidence.

Inspired by the Shadowed Forest

Not every part of the forest is green.

Shadow Grove takes its inspiration from charcoal-dark bark, ancient stone, rich woodland soil and the shadows beneath a dense canopy.

The entirely black palette gives the bracelet a stronger, more masculine character while the woven construction and natural materials retain the organic identity of Dean & Root.
